From Sunday 20th October The Parque Temático da Madeira in Santana has FREE Admission
“The Madeira Theme Park is located in Santana. The park was inaugurated on the 10th of October 2004 and has an area of 145 thousand square feet. The park is divided into different areas with various attractions for all ages and is for tourists as well as locals. The attractions at the park are related to the history, tradition, culture and customs of the people of Madeira.
The main attractions are as follows:
Four multimedia pavilions: (Discovery of the Islands, Fantastic Voyage through Madeira, Roots of Madeira and the World of Islands, Islands of the World).
Regional Handcrafts, Oxen Sledge, a replica of the Monte Train, Typical Santana houses, a Labyrinth, a Lake, a Children’s Playground, Radical Sports and Gardens where you will find numerous endemic plants and flowers.
The park has a typical restaurant and Coffee Shop as well as a Car Park and Souvenir Shop.
The attractions and shows are unique and the quality and variety on offer make the Madeira Theme Park a place where entertainment goes hand in hand with knowledge and nature.”

Irish airline Ryanair announced this week that it will be investing around €100 million to create 12 new routes in Portugal for the summer of 2019, from all of its national bases.
3 new routes from Lisbon
The airline will introduce 3 new routes from Lisbon,
six from Porto
three from Faro
The 12 new routes are to Bordeaux, Clermont and Edinburgh (from Lisbon); to Alicante, Brive, Cagliari, Marrakech and Seville (from Porto), and Berlin, Milan Bergamo, and London Southend from Faro.
The airline will also be increasing flights on a number of existing routes at all airports, including the Azores, for a total of 129 routes and 11 million passengers a year.
