The Regional Civil Protection Service issued a statement:

for periods of rain showers on Thursday morning until noon on Friday ( December 17) .
This precipitation is associated with the passage of a cold from Greenland that will move to the coast of Africa , via Madeira and the Algarve
Friday – Sunday:
There will be large sea waves on the North coast of Madeira and Porto Santo .
From the early hours of Friday there should be a progressive increase in the height of the waves . The waves should reduce on Sunday.
